Sometimes I just want to stick my head in the sand and ignore what is going on with the broader world, government, and denomination. I just want to think about my family, friends, and church. Really, I do.
But the reality is that the broader world, government, and denomination are important and even essential to engage with in our lives. While some religions teach inner peace and detachment as the primary goal, our faith teaches love and active engagement - missions and service - as our primary goal. So while worship, prayer, meditation, and Bible study are essential, they are only a means to the end of being in mission and service to our families, friends, community and the world. The end goal to is spread scriptural holiness over the lands and live on earth as we will in Heaven.
